We want to make sure all of your questions are answered, so please contact us for additional information or to schedule a tour. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions regarding hosting a wedding at the Stone Barn at Sebago Lake.
How many people can the Stone Barn seat?
The Stone Barn can seat 90 people comfortably, however the courtyard can fit up to 250 people for a seated meal under our tent with additional space for dancing.
Do we need to rent a tent?
No need to rent a tent. We provide a 44’ x 84’ tent in our courtyard for our couples to use, saving you thousands of dollars and any concerns about the weather. Rain or shine, your event will be covered!
What other amenities are included?
We have an inventory of custom made farm tables, round tables, high top tables, banquet tables, natural wood folding chairs, white and ivory linens, adirondack chairs, and fire pits, all included in the cost of the venue rental. Most of our couples don’t end up spending any money in rentals for their weddings.
Do you have restrooms?
Yes, we have men and women’s restrooms inside the barn, each with three stalls. The women’s bathroom also has an access door from the bridal suite. No need to rent port-o-lets, like many other barns.
Do you have parking on site?
We have plenty of parking for you and your guests on the Saint Joseph’s College campus, across the street from the Stone Barn. We have limited parking at the Stone Barn, which is reserved for handicapped guests. We will provide shuttles to bring guests to the barn from campus, or it is a quick walk across the street on a lighted pathway.
How late can we stay?
We only allow one wedding per weekend, so the space is yours from 9:00 AM the day before your wedding, until noon the day after. As for the day of the event, the Standish noise ordinance requires music to end at 10:00 PM and all guests must depart by 10:30 PM.
Do we have to use the preferred vendor list?
We do have a list of vendors that we have experience with and love having at our venue, however we are happy to work with any vendor you bring in.
Is there space for our bridal party to get ready?
We do have a private space for bridal parties to use throughout the day of the wedding, however we would recommend having hair, makeup, and any pre-ceremony tasks done at a separate location as the room is small and acts as more of a quiet space during the wedding.
Will we have access to the lake?
Couples are more than welcome to use the lakefront to take photos, however we do not host ceremonies or receptions near the lake.
Will we need to set up and clean up?
The Stone Barn staff will set up tables, chairs, and linens according to your floor plan. Personal items, decor, table settings, and florals will need to be arranged with your planner, caterer, or florist.
Your caterer will be responsible for disposing of any trash or recycling at the end of the night. We require smaller items such as candles, decor, florals, and personal items to be removed by noon the day following your event.
Do you offer catering and bar services?
Yes, we offer catering June through early August, and bar services throughout the season. Please contact us if you are interested in using either or both services and we will send you more information!
Are we required to purchase our own insurance policy for our event?
Yes, we require each couple to purchase Special Event Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 naming Saint Joseph’s College as the additional insured for the duration of the event. The policy should cost about $200.
